Ancient travelers needed neither wings nor engine to discover the stars.

Across civilizations, this belief took many forms.
In ancient India, consciousness was understood as capable of detaching from the body—mind, intellect, and life force moving through inner worlds and distant, unseen realms of space.

In ancient Egypt, the Ba was described in the Book of the Dead as a bird-like soul that could leave the body at night, journeying through the star-filled Duat, where underworld and heavens become one sky.

Among many Indigenous traditions, trance states were seen as passages beyond the body, where consciousness could travel through the cosmos, speak with celestial beings, and return with knowledge of invisible worlds.

They did not travel to the stars.
They didn’t have to.
They were one with them.
